Our pressure treated timber Loglap planed tongue and groove boards are ideal for making your own garden buildings – sheds, summer houses, playhouses, kennels etc.

The finished size is 18 x 93mm – approx 7/8 x 4 inches – but this will vary with weather conditions. Each board will cover 85mm.

The timber is carefully selected from sustainable, certified, slow grown forests to ensure we meet your quality and environmental requirements. Our Loglap is pressure treated for extra long life.

When the timber is treated it swells – it is important to bear this in mind when constructing your buildings. The drier the timber when you install it – the less issues you will have with shrinkage in the summer months.

As with all natural materials, our Timber supply may be subject to movement and deterioration as they season, this is not to considered to be a fault or defect. This may become evident with shakes, splits and warping.

Loglap Cladding FAQ's

Loglap Cladding FAQ's

What is Loglap Cladding?

Loglap cladding is essentially a similar construction as shiplap but has a slightly different appearance.

The outer profile of the wooden boards or panels is that of a log, so your shed or building looks like a log cabin. The anterior portion of the board is flat so that it can be securely fixed to the flat face of your structure.

For someone who prefers more of a rustic look, then we would advise going for loglap cladding over shiplap cladding.

The weather protection and strength is exactly the same as ship lap cladding however the log lap cladding, because it is usually thicker, will be a little more long lasting.

Where is Loglap Cladding Used?

Loglap cladding is extremely popular and is frequently used for outhouses and garden sheds.

Loglap cladding is built in a tongue and groove interlocking or overlapping style mostly, and will be able to repel water infiltration, so both types are more than ideal for our good old British weather.

In essence it’s the same as shiplap but the profile on the outside face of the plank of wood is a rounded to give a log effect which works extremely well.

Loglap or Shiplap?

The answer to this question really depends on the look you are going for. If would like a more rustic log cabin design then you would most likely want to opt for loglap cladding.

However, if you want something that may look slightly more modern and angular, shiplap cladding would be your answer.

Loglap Cladding Installation

Normal practice is to install loglap cladding using ‘face fixed’ nails or screws – fixing the cladding to the batons behind, through the front face of the loglap cladding.

Loglap Cladding Longevity

You can expect quality loglap cladding to last anywhere between 40-60 years.
