Kandla Grey is a very consistent coloured sandstone compared to some of the other ranges. Sandstone is known for its variation in colours, so Kandla Grey offers something a little different in this department. The varying shades of grey help to create a traditional look, whilst keeping the area much more uniform than what might normally be expected of ordinary sandstone. For this reason, Kandla Grey remains a very popular choice.
This is one of the most hard-wearing sandstones, even those who have very little time to maintain the look of their garden through the year don’t need to worry as Kandla Grey ages remarkably well and will always pull off a beautiful traditional look. Sandstone is an excellent all-round choice. The stone is a sedimentary stone, which consists of small grains which are held together by a silicon ‘natural cement’. It’s this ‘cement’ that gives the sandstone is wide ranging variations in colour and texture.
Silicon is a very tough substance, which is why sandstone is so hard wearing and worthy of the investment. This paving has been split by hand which is a perfect medium between a rustic and contemporary look. Once the stone has been excavated, each slab has been expertly split by hand to give a classic look. The edges are rough, but still fall in straight lines so remain easy to lay. The surface of these slabs have a riven effect. The slabs have a completely natural surface.
Hand Dressed Edges – The edges are all hand-dressed. This makes for edges that have a classic feel, but still sit nicely side-by-side.
Sawn Edges – The edges of these slabs are clean cut, sawn edges which makes for the neatest joints between the slabs.

What is a Single Size Pack?
Single Size packs are exactly what they say on the tin. They are packs of slabs which contain only 1 size of slab.
What area does a Single Size Pack cover?
Single size packs are bought as multiples of individual slabs. Each slab covers a specific area, so depending on the pack size you know the area you can cover:
- 90cm x 60cm = 0.54m2
- 60cm x 60cm = 0.36m2
- 60cm x 45cm = 0.27m2
- 60cm x 30cm = 0.18m2
