Shed & Fence Golden Brown Woodstain
Golden Brown is a beautifully warm shade that instantly transforms timber. The rich golden glow makes any timber product look that much more luxurious, whilst retaining a natural warmth.
Wood Stain & Protect is a multi-purpose, water-repellent quality coating that colours and protects the whole garden. Our Wood Stain & Protect provides weather-proofing protection to all types of timber and is so good that it will even adhere to masonry and terracotta pots.
Our Wood Stain & Protect is a water-based wood stain with very low VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and good eco-credentials. This quality wood stain creates a quick-drying micro-porous coating that contains a mould inhibitor to protect the coating. Once dry it is not harmful to plants, children or animals making it the ideal choice not only for fencing and sheds, but playhouses and animal housing.
Although the pictures shown are an accurate representation of the wood stain, there are a number of factors which will affect the final colour. The type and condition of your timber will affect the final colour:
- Light colours and clear coatings applied to pressure treated timber will be affected by the green hue of the treatment.
- If colours are applied to dark, weathered timber the stain will look darker than when applied to fresh, light softwood.
- These are high-build wood stains; if more than two coats are applied the colour will be more intense.
- If wood stains are applied on the top of old coatings, the colour of the old coating will influence the top coat colour.
- When viewing colours on a computer, tablet, or phone screen, the colours are affected by VDU interpretation and calibrated pre-sets, and even the type of device you’re using (Mac vs. PC). Graphics cards and software packages will also influence colour representation.
These pictures are created as a guide for colour selection only and may differ from the final product.

Shed & Fence Golden Brown Woodstain FAQ's
Golden Brown Wood Stain Colour Options?
Wood stain is a semi-transparent coating that penetrates the wood to provide colour whilst also allowing features of the wood, such as colour and grain effects, to remain visible.
Wood stain can come in a wide range of colours across both regular Wood Stain and Exterior Wood Stain products. The most popular colour people tend to choose is Black Wood Stain, a deep black wood stain, which can be used on all types of wood.
The Mick George have an excellent range of different colour wood stains which would all look fantastic on either of your decking, fencing or garden buildings.
Selecting the correct Wood Stain Colour?
If you like the way it looks, there’s no need to stain the wood.
If you want a darker colour or a more pronounced grain pattern, go ahead and stain it. Once you know what type of wood you are working with, it will be easier to choose a stain that will enliven and restore the wood.
We stock a fantastic range of water resistant wood stain colours for decking, fencing and garden buildings.
Why use Golden Brown Wood Stain Colours?
Compared to paint, stain can be more economical, easier to use and longer-lasting while also letting the natural look of wood shine through.
For fencing one coat will colour and weather-proof with a second deepening the colour and extending the lifespan.
How long do Wood Stain Colours last?
When applied to wood, wood stain can last up to 3-5 years on wood due to the effects of sunlight.
Wood stains can be kept for 1 year if the cans have been opened, but unopened cans will last 2 – 3 yrs.
Popular Wood Stain Colours
Just like any aspect of home decoration or interior design, wood stain colours come and go in popularity depending on what’s currently in style.
For example, dark stained oak tends to come across as very 80s and it is more in style right now to use a lighter more neutral stain for oak.
