Slotted Intermediate Concrete Fence Post

Our slotted concrete fence posts represent a reliable and long-lasting solution to your fencing requirements. Designed for easy installation of the fence panel, our concrete slotted posts with gravel boards are available in a number of different lengths.

Dense and strong, slotted concrete fence posts do not rot, making them a longer lasting alternative to their timber counterparts. Exposed concrete is increasingly becoming the fashionable choice for posts and boards. Most frequently they are used with timber panel fencing, slotted fence posts can also be paired with other materials. For closeboard fence panels you will require morticed fence posts.

All of our concrete fencing products are steel reinforced for extra strength. They are an excellent alternative to timber, ideal for windy areas where you want extra peace of mind.

With slots that run the entire length of the post, allowing you to step panels on sloping ground, the slot width is perfectly sized to accept our entire range of timber fence panels. The intermediate post is our most popular, and has a slot on both sides, creating a strong, yet attractive finish between two panels.

When fitting your post, we recommend that you allow a minimum of 600mm to go into the ground.

These posts are concrete, with one shaped pyramid end, and one sloping end, giving you a choice of fence design. The measurements above are in millimetres – mm. The finished size is 87 x 100mm, with a slot depth of 20mm.

Intermediate Concrete Fence Post FAQ's

Intermediate Concrete Fence Post FAQ's

What are Intermediate Concrete Fence Posts?

Intermediate concrete fence posts are an integral and key structural support, set into the ground at regular intervals to reinforce fence panels and to hold them in place.

If the fence posts are too weak, the fence may collapse under pressure or in strong winds.

For most privacy and general-purpose fences, 6 or 8 feet between posts is standard. There are 2 types of fence posts you can buy, concrete or wood.

Where are Intermediate Concrete Fence Posts Used?

The backbone of any fence in your garden, our intermediate concrete fence posts are strong and durable.

Intermediate Concrete Fence Post Sizes

Intermediate concrete fence posts generally need to be 6-8 inches in diameter, 8 feet long and set a minimum of 3-1/2 feet deep for a 6ft high fence.

Intermediate Concrete Fence Post Spacing

Most intermediate concrete fence posts can be spaced 8 to 12 feet apart. While this is a general criteria, it doesn’t cover all scenarios.

For instance, high tensile fence can have larger spacing, requiring line posts every 15 to 20 feet for field fence styles, and as much as 20-30 feet for high tensile barbed and smooth wire.

Intermediate Concrete Fence Post Installation

Due to the sheer weight of either concrete or wood fence posts, installation takes a great deal of time and effort. This usually requires an extra pair of hands or two to ensure a safe and efficient job is complete.
