What is Chipboard?

Chipboard is created by mixing small wood particles with resin to create timber sheets. Chipboard is a versatile product that can be used for many applications including worktops, furniture, packaging, and most often flooring.

What is Chipboard used for?

How Chipboard is used will depend on it’s density, the highest-density grades of chipboard are used for jobs such as flooring, kitchen worktops, building and other interior projects.

The lower graded density boards are often used to create furniture, interior trims, and packaging.

What is the difference between OSB and Chipboard?

OSB and Chipboard are two very adaptable and useful building materials and when deciding which one to choose, it will come down to how they are going to be used. Both can be used for similar applications and so which one you pick will come down to the smaller details such as whether you need it to be moisture resistant or more durable etc.

What is the lifespan of Chipboard?

Typically, Chipboard has a lifespan of between 3 – 5 years if installed and looked after properly.
