Black Limestone is sleek and stylish. It has grown and grown in popularity over the last few years, and has left plenty of satisfied customers. This is a naturally occurring stone, which surprises a lot of people because of the deep, genuine black colour. The stone is perfect for creating a effortlessly eye-catching area the moment it is complete. Over time, limestone improves. The colour mellows out and slowly starts to feel wonderfully traditional as the years go by.
The surface of the limestone is ‘naturally smooth’, so there is no need to worry about excessive flaking, or rough/sharp patches of the stone occurring. Black Limestone does require a fair bit of maintenance, so is recommended for a keen gardener who enjoys putting time and effort into the upkeep of their garden. The finished product is fantastic – the deep blacks bring any garden to life immediately, so it is worth the maintenance – however, it is important to know that it will require it.
Stone Cobbles and Setts are a very versatile stone products. If you are paving an area with flags or paving stones, you can use stone cobbles as an edging. Alternatively, cobbles and setts are perfect for use in driveways, either as an edging or for the entirety of the driveway. The cobbles are incredibly durable and can take a lot of pressure so are perfect for this use.
This cobbles have been split by hand which is a perfect medium between a rustic and contemporary look. Once the stone has been excavated, each slab has been expertly split by hand to give a classic look. The edges are rough, but still fall in straight lines so remain easy to lay. The surface finish of limestone is much smoother than what is typically found on the regular sandstones. Whilst not sawn smooth, the surface of limestone is naturally quite smooth – we would describe this an ‘orange peel’ texture, so will looks smooth from a regular perspective but will have small, irregular pitting across the surface.
