We use 19 Waney lap boards (5mm x 150mm), 10 vertical battens (16mm x 38mm), and 4 horizontal battens per 6 foot panel. Each board is sandwiched between these battens, and attached using strong ring shank nails, creating a robust and wind resistant panel!

We offer two colour variations – pale green/natural, and brown. The only difference is aesthetics as both options are pressure treated to the same high standards, one is simply coloured brown on site, to save you time!

Available in five standard heights, this panel is 1830mm (6ft) wide, and designed for use with timber, concrete, and plastic accessories.

When choosing a gravel board it is important to make sure you buy the correct board to match your panels. For this panel, ensure your gravel board is also 1830mm (6ft) in length.

The finished size is 46mm thick x 1830mm wide.

As with all natural materials, our Timber supply may be subject to movement and deterioration as they season, this is not to considered to be a fault or defect. This may become evident with shakes, splits and warping.

Delivery Logistics: All our Timber range products will be delivered by 3rd party vehicles.

Kerbside delivery applies as standard, but we will typically try to deliver to your front garden or driveway – We will leave the product in a safe location adjacent to the main roadway, but off of any public highways.

**If a delivery scheduled is to a gated community, this will need to be communicated to us in advance and access provided. Where restricted access applies, if waiting times are encountered for the delivery, then additional charges may be incurred.

Cancellations, Exchanges; Failed Deliveries:

• For any orders that are returned (unless deemed faulty), the customer is liable for the return shipping fees equivalent to that incurred in the original order (Timber orders also incur a 75% charge of the initial order value).
• In the unlikely event that we’re unable to complete the scheduled delivery due to access restrictions or a non-secure delivery location, the customer is responsible for the restocking and redelivery fees. If the delivery can’t be rescheduled, then no refund is available.
• If your products are faulty, please email photo evidence over within 24 hours for review.
• All returns or exchange requests need communicating to us via email or telephone within 3 Working Days to be considered (faulty, or not).
• If your order arrives incorrect (missing items etc.), this also needs communicating to us via email or telephone within 3 Working Days to be considered (faulty, or not).

What is a Waney Lap Fence Panel?

Overlap and waney edge fencing are very similar in design, as both have horizontal overlapping slats that make up the bulk of the fence.  The main difference is that waney edge boards have a slightly wavy bottom edge, where the wood has been cut straight from the tree and therefore is uneven.

Waney Edge timber is suitable for installation in areas with low to medium strength wind conditions.

Where are Waney Lap Fence Panels Used?

Waney edge timber is used to create a traditional and rustic appearance by layering boards that have been sliced straight from the tree. One edge of the board is usually cut straight making it easy to assemble, whilst the other keeps the shape of the tree and its bark i.e. the waney-edge.

The wane on the edge of the board is the bark from the tree and this is what causes the width along the board to be inconsistent.
