A recessed concrete fence post is one that is cast with a number of recesses to allow rails to fit neatly with the post itself.  Recessed fence posts are used for closeboard or featheredge fencing. The rail can then be attached directly to the pre-holed concrete post using metal bolts. When you need the extra reassurance of a very heavy duty fence, our recessed posts are the product you need! Designed to have a timber fence rail (bevelled or square up to 100mm) bolted through the pre-holed, moulded recesses, these posts will hold up in the harshest conditions.

Use either a timber, or concrete gravel board, and construct your perfect fence. We suggest using the M10 220mm bolts. Using this method of fencing means the post is only visible on one side, providing an attractive finish. Typically, two rails are required for fences of 1.2m and below, with three required for taller installations.

All our concrete fencing products are steel reinforced for extra strength. They are an excellent alternative to timber, ideal for windy areas where you want extra peace of mind.

When fitting your post, we recommend that you allow a minimum of 600mm to go into the ground.

These posts are concrete, with one shaped end, and one flat end, the measurements above are in millimetres (mm). The finished size is 110 x 125mm.

Delivery Logistics: All our Timber range products will be delivered by 3rd party vehicles.

Kerbside delivery applies as standard, but we will typically try to deliver to your front garden or driveway – We will leave the product in a safe location adjacent to the main roadway, but off of any public highways.

**If a delivery scheduled is to a gated community, this will need to be communicated to us in advance and access provided. Where restricted access applies, if waiting times are encountered for the delivery, then additional charges may be incurred.

Cancellations, Exchanges; Failed Deliveries:

• For any orders that are returned (unless deemed faulty), the customer is liable for the return shipping fees equivalent to that incurred in the original order (Timber orders also incur a 75% charge of the initial order value).
• In the unlikely event that we’re unable to complete the scheduled delivery due to access restrictions or a non-secure delivery location, the customer is responsible for the restocking and redelivery fees. If the delivery can’t be rescheduled, then no refund is available.
• If your products are faulty, please email photo evidence over within 24 hours for review.
• All returns or exchange requests need communicating to us via email or telephone within 3 Working Days to be considered (faulty, or not).
• If your order arrives incorrect (missing items etc.), this also needs communicating to us via email or telephone within 3 Working Days to be considered (faulty, or not).

What are Recessed Concrete Fence Posts?

Recessed concrete fence posts are an integral and key structural support, set into the ground at regular intervals to reinforce fence panels and to hold them in place.

Recessed Concrete Fence Post Sizes

Recessed concrete fence posts generally need to be 6-8 inches in diameter, 8 feet long and set a minimum of 3-1/2 feet deep for a 6ft high fence.

Recessed Concrete Fence Post Spacing

Most recessed concrete fence posts can be spaced 8 to 12 feet apart. While this is a general criteria, it doesn’t cover all scenarios.

For instance, high tensile fence can have larger spacing, requiring line posts every 15 to 20 feet for field fence styles, and as much as 20-30 feet for high tensile barbed and smooth wire.
