Our fence post spikes are a great way to save digging holes in the garden. Using one of our fence post base tools, simply hammer the spike in the soil – making sure you avoid and pipes and cables. Insert the wooden fence post and tighten up the retaining bolts – that’s it!

Make sure you specify bolt grip post supports – although a little more money than the “wedge” design – they will grip your post much tighter.

All the fencing post bases are powder coated to extend their lifespan.

Delivery Logistics: All our Timber range products will be delivered by 3rd party vehicles.

Kerbside delivery applies as standard, but we will typically try to deliver to your front garden or driveway – We will leave the product in a safe location adjacent to the main roadway, but off of any public highways.

**If a delivery scheduled is to a gated community, this will need to be communicated to us in advance and access provided. Where restricted access applies, if waiting times are encountered for the delivery, then additional charges may be incurred.

Cancellations, Exchanges; Failed Deliveries:

• For any orders that are returned (unless deemed faulty), the customer is liable for the return shipping fees equivalent to that incurred in the original order (Timber orders also incur a 75% charge of the initial order value).
• In the unlikely event that we’re unable to complete the scheduled delivery due to access restrictions or a non-secure delivery location, the customer is responsible for the restocking and redelivery fees. If the delivery can’t be rescheduled, then no refund is available.
• If your products are faulty, please email photo evidence over within 24 hours for review.
• All returns or exchange requests need communicating to us via email or telephone within 3 Working Days to be considered (faulty, or not).
• If your order arrives incorrect (missing items etc.), this also needs communicating to us via email or telephone within 3 Working Days to be considered (faulty, or not).

What are Fence Post Spikes?

Fence post spikes are a quick and easy solution when erecting posts, saving the time and effort of digging holes or mixing concrete.

The best way to install fence spikes is by using a sledge hammer, with the finned steel spike providing secure anchorage in the ground.

A fence that uses fence post anchor spikes is just as stable as a fence with posts set in concrete, with the added benefit of minimising the rotting of the fence posts.

Where are Fence Post Spikes Used?

There are a number of different sized fence post spikes available for different fence heights. Using a fence post spike means that you can avoid digging a big deep hole within which to place your fence post.

The most common sizes of metal spike include:

• A 600mm (24 inch) spike – this will support fences up to 1.2m (4 feet) high.
• A 750mm (30 inch) spike – this will support a fence which is 1.8m (6 feet) high.

It is important to make sure that the spike is going into the ground vertically, we recommend using a spirit level when doing this.

Why Use Fence Post Spikes?

Fence post anchor spikes work well by allowing one to place and remove fence posts without having to dig large holes.

A fence that uses fence post anchor spikes is just as stable as a fence with posts set in concrete, with the added benefit of minimising the rotting of the fence posts.

Fence Post Spike Installation

Concrete-in fence post holders are designed for use where soil conditions are unsuitable for drive-in spikes.

The “shoe” should be set into a 450mm (18 inch) cube of concrete so that the base plate sits flush with the surface of the concrete. Don’t forget to check it is level before allowing the concrete to go off!
