Road Planing FAQ's

Road Planing FAQ's

What are Road Planings?

Road planings are produced when the surface layer of a tarmac road or footpath is removed, they are also known as road scalping’s or road scrapings. These are created when the surface layer of tarmac is removed by a cold milling machine. The cold milling machine removes asphalt from the surface sub-base and then this material is ready to be recycled.

Road Planings Benefits

Road Planings are seen as a cheaper alternative to using tarmac, shingle and granite-chipping, which makes it an ideal road surface for car parks, haul roads, site roads and farm tracks, and can be used as a sub-base for laying paths, driveways and patios.

Where are Road Planings Used?

As Road Planings are hardwearing and weather resistant, these aggregates are ideal for high-traffic areas, such as car parks. Additionally, Road Planings can also be used as a sub-base in construction projects as well as a void filling material.

Cheap Road Planing Prices

Several factors can effect the price of Road Planings but the main reason the Mick George Group can provide cheap Road Planings is because we produce it from our own quarries and distribute it through our own fleet.

Other factors influencing the price of 6F5 can be delivery method, location and volume.
