Gen Concrete Designation

Applying the right Concrete mix for your project is essential for achieving the best results. Subsequently, the Mick George Group supply a comprehensive range of Concrete Applications of varying strengths and grades to ensure the ideal solution for any project, large or small.

Gen designation used for a series of Concretes that are used for housing, and similar non structural applications. The requirements specify a minimum quantity of cement (minimum cement content, or MCC) to be included, but no water cement ratio (w/c) and as such, they have relatively low levels of durability.

Gen 0

C7 & 8 Concrete mix, Gen 0 Concrete or wet lean mix Concrete, is commonly used in both commercial and domestic projects for a huge range of general applications, such as kerb bedding, haunching and backing, domestic foundations and blinding.

Concrete strength: 7.5N/mm2 at 28 days

Gen 1

C10 Concrete, or Gen 1 Concrete is an extremely versatile mix used throughout the construction industry for general and housing applications. This includes un-reinforced strip, trench fill and and agricultural applications.

It can also be used for drainage works and blinding house floors, as well as pad foundations and non-structural mass Concrete in non-aggressive ground conditions.

Concrete strength: 10N/mm2 at 28 days

Gen 2

C15 Concrete or Gen 2 Concrete is suitable for house floors with no embedded metal. It also provides the ideal material for flooring when no permanent finish or floor covering will be installed, such as carpet or tile.

Concrete strength: 15N/mm2 at 28 days

  • Foundations for Small Walls & Sheds

Gen 2 Concrete application at residential home

Gen 3

Gen 3 is commonly used for light duty domestic applications and foundations. It can be used to construct internal floor slabs that contain no embedded metal and will be covered by carpet, tiles or laminate flooring. It is also suitable for domestic garage floors, but we suggest a minimum of RC25/30 should be used if the garage is also used as a workshop.
