Having made a £27.4 billion investment in strategic road network across the country, Highways England has in recent times completed more than 36 major improvement schemes with many more on the horizon, all of which have environmental, recruitment and construction benefits.
Originally made of stone and timber when founded in 4,000 BC, road construction techniques have gradually improved to incorporate more modern day practices which include asphalt and, or concrete materials to ensure safe and effective transportation of people and goods.
Road Construction Experience
The Mick George Group are experienced in supporting road construction and road surfacing projects, working in partnership with local councils, civil engineers and other specialists contractors, to facilitate the build of local road schemes, including bridge structures, tunnels, road resurfacing, highway embankments and the construction of car parks, runways and running tracks.
Our Highway Engineering provisions involve planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance, and been pivotal in many of the countries highway construction projects and road surfacing projects, including the M1 Smart Motorway and A14 Huntingdon to Cambridge Interchange, specifically through the supply Earthworks, Aggregate and Concrete provisions.

Working in conjunction with leading Civil Engineering operators, we supply a complete range of products, materials, and technologies to suit all road surfacing requirements. Whether you are constructing a new road system or highway, or you are responsible for the maintenance of existing networks. We have the surfacing materials for paving, dressing, sealing, weather proofing and repairing highways and pedestrian zones and cycle paths around the world.
