Compost in Royston

Compost is a mixture of different ingredients used to fertilise and improve the health of soil. It is usually prepared by decomposing plant and food waste and recycling organic materials.

Potted or containerised trees and shrubs should have their Compost replaced every year or two.

It is advised that this is done between February and May.

Doing so will improve the compost structure and provide a fresh supply of nutrients, which can traditionally be lost quickly in pots and containers.

Compost can be sprinkled on top of, or mixed into your flower, vegetable or tree beds and pots, for both interior and external plantations.

In addition, it could be added to soil and spread over turfed areas to improve the condition of your lawn.
