CD and DVD Disposal
The Mick George Group collect, segregate and manage Waste Electrical and Electronic equipment (WEEE) such as DVD, Video or CD Players to safeguard against potentially harmful materials contaminating other waste streams, saving you additional landfill charges.
DVD, Video or CD Disposal
Increasingly, listening to music and watching movies has shifted to streaming services, which means you’re likely to have lots of CDs and DVD’s gathering dust in the house or garage.
There are multiple reasons why CDs and DVDs need to be disposed of appropriately, most notably the fact that it’s estimated to take in excess of 1-million years for a CD or DVD to entirely decompose in Landfill. Equally, if CDs or DVDs are exposed to burning processes commonly associated with landfilled waste, they can can release dangerous chemical fumes. Polycarbonate plastic contains BPA, or bisphenol-A, which has links to health issues such as reproductive problems, early puberty, blood pressure, and heart disease.
Electronics such as these can be recycled but cannot be mixed in with regular home recycling like paper and plastic. All DVD, CD and VHS players count as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment or WEEE and must be disposed of correctly.
