The Mick George Community Fund has provided financial support to the value of £20,485 to Colne Village Hall for the installation of 22 solar panels.
Colne Village Hall applied through the Mick George Community Fund, having identified the need for improvements to be made.
Community Benefit
The newly installed solar panels will allow Colne Village Hall to generate and store its own electricity, significantly reducing reliance on the National Grid. As a result, the charity will be better protected against fluctuating and rising energy prices, ensuring that the cost of hiring the hall remains affordable for all users.
All regular hall users will benefit from the project because it will ensure the management committee can maintain a fair charging structure. Regular users have recurring booked slots for their activities.
The installation of Solar Panels will help to future-proof the village hall, positioning it as a leader for sustainability within the local community.
