Wooden sleepers can be used in all manner of ways.
The most popular uses for wooden sleepers are retaining walls, border edging and raised beds, however, we have seen people make raised deck areas from them, use sleepers vertically to create fences and walls, and one customer even used wooden sleepers to make a swimming pool for the summer!

Naturally, untreated wooden Sleepers may display signs of other material deposits on the surface.
On the other hand, treated wooden Sleepers are coated in environmentally friendly, non-Creosote based preservatives, such as ACQ or Tanalith E, which are safe to use and suitable for all garden landscaping projects, making them a wise choice for your garden.

Wooden sleepers will last for years, especially if treated. Generally, treated wooden Sleepers will last around 8 to 10.
Softwood that is left untreated will still last around 2 to 5 years, which is why all of our softwood wooden sleepers have been treated for longevity.
Oak and Hardwood wooden Sleepers will last between 15 to 20 years but are considerably more expensive.
