What are Concrete Fence Posts?

Concrete fence posts are an integral and key structural support, set into the ground at regular intervals to reinforce fence panels and to hold them in place.

If the concrete fence posts are too weak, the fence may collapse under pressure or in strong winds.

For most privacy and general-purpose fences, 6 or 8 feet between posts is standard.

There are 2 types of fence posts you can buy, concrete or wood.

Where are Concrete Fence Posts Used?

The backbone of any fence in your garden, our concrete fence posts are strong and durable.

Whether you’re looking for intermediate, recessed or end posts, we have them in stock.

There are various different types of fence posts available, these include wood fence posts and concrete fence posts, but all have different shapes and sizes optionable.

Concrete Fence Post Sizes

Concrete fence posts generally need to be 6-8 inches in diameter, 8 feet long and set a minimum of 3-1/2 feet deep for a standard 6ft high fence.

To determine the proper length, add together the depth of setting, which should be no less than 3-1/2 feet in the ground, plus the height of the top wire above the ground, plus 6” extra.

Concrete Fence Post Spacing

Most concrete fence posts can be spaced 8 to 12 feet apart. While this is a general criteria, it doesn’t cover all scenarios.

For instance, high tensile fence can have larger spacing, requiring line posts every 15 to 20 feet for field fence styles, and as much as 20-30 feet for high tensile barbed and smooth wire.
