Duddington Village Hall

Although the full potential of the recently renovated Duddington Village Hall is not likely to be realised by local residents for some time, owing to current circumstances, those who frequent the venue will be pleasantly greeted on their return.

Significant upgrades have been completed thanks to a collaborative funding initiative between local construction specialist the Mick George Group and a leading community fund administrator, Grantscape, which saw the two donate £35,000 to overhaul the kitchen and toilet facilities.

The kitchen has benefitted from a new floor, replacement cupboards, worktops and shelving, while the lavatories have had new cubicles, urinals and sinks installed.

The project arose following a leak that was experienced during the winter months resulting in the floor warping, as well as general wear and tear which was present throughout the amenity.

Reliant on funding from hiring out the venue, it is anticipated that the improvements will offer further appeal to the various user groups, subsequently offering increased revenue generation opportunity for the Village Hall Committee.

Lucy Hurst, Chairperson at Duddington Village Hall commented: The transformation has been fantastic and is certainly more practical and visually pleasing. The hall is hired out to the local community for meetings, classes, private parties, events and talks, acting as a key location for social interaction. Hopefully the destination will now be utilised more and will in turn permit more events to be hosted.
