Concrete Distribution Methods

When ordering your Concrete, it’s important to consider how you plan to distribute your Concrete to the desired location on receipt, from the Barrel Mixer vehicle.

Every project will be different and face different challenges with regards to access or terrain.

Predominantly, there are three main Concrete distribution methods, all of which have there pro’s and con’s, dependent on your requirements. These include:

Straight Pour Concrete:

By far the easiest way to move wet Concrete is straight tipping; tipping the concrete from the mixer truck directly into the trench or slab.

Straight tipped Concrete is also the cheapest way for distributing Concrete due to the speed in which it can be achieved. A traditional 6m3 mixer truck can discharge its load in around six minutes, reducing the amount of time a driver is required on-site, which usually entails ‘waiting’ charges.

The main prevention to straight poured Concrete is access – A truck is 2.54m wide and a 6m3 truck weighs approximately 24t with a full load.

Concrete Pump Service

Our comprehensive Concrete Pump Hire service could be the perfect solution for where access issues prevent straight poured Concrete, maximising the time you have to work with the concrete and minimise labour costs and material wastage

Whether you’re working on a home DIY project and want concrete pumped through your garden, or you have a large commercial construction project where concrete needs to be poured at a height, our range of concrete pump rental options will ensure you can get the job done efficiently.

Our quality equipment provides high-pressure pumping and can be set up by our experienced operatives at your site. With a range that includes boom, line and mobile pumps, varying in length from 20 to 200 metres, we’re able to cater for all requirements.

Wheelbarrow Concrete Distribution

The traditional wheelbarrow is still widely used for concrete on many sites. However, a standard 6m3 load equates to around 240 barrow trips and on average it will take four people about one hour to move the full load, so just be sure to have plenty of barrows at the ready to avoid any waiting time charges.
