Skip Hire Permits: Everything you need to know
Having decided you need to hire a skip, it’s important to consider where the skip is going to be placed upon delivery. If you are unsure of where you can or cannot place the skip then don’t worry, this guide will take you through the process step by step leaving you safe in the knowledge that everything is in the correct location prior to taking delivery.
Like a car parking permit, a council skip permit or skip licence is simply a licence that permits a skip to be placed in a certain location, for a given amount of time.
When do you need a Skip Hire Permit?
If your skip is going to be placed on private land or property that you own, such as a driveway, yard, or field, you don’t need to worry about a skip permit as one will not be required.
However, if the skip is going to be placed in a public area or land that doesn’t belong to you, such as on a road, pavement, verge, highways land or a public parking space, then a skip permit will be required but we can take care of that for you. We are unable to deliver on any grass verges, kerbs, or pathways.

The skip will also come equipped with lights and chevrons to further improve its visibility.

If the safety features are moved away from the skip, then you will be liable for any fines issued by the council.
