Square and, or Rectangle Turf Calculator

To measure the amount of turf required for a square or rectangle area, simply measure the length and the width then multiply these numbers together to get your m² measurement. E.g. if Length = 5m & Width = 10m then the area is 50m².

Circular Turf Calculator

A circular lawn is a little trickier to measure, but is definitely still achievable. To work out how many rolls of turf you require for your circular area, follow these steps:

  • Measure a straight line from the centre of the circular area to the outside.
  • This number is now your ‘radius’
  • Multiply this number by itself and then by Pi (Pi is roughly 3.142)
  • This number is now your ‘area’ and will tell you how many rolls of turf you need to order to complete the job.

Obscure Shaped Turf Calculator

If your area is not a particular shape and you a struggling to find a way to get an accurate measurement, it’s time to go back to the basics.

  • Break down the areas in to sections
  • Work out the areas of each sections
  • Add all of the section areas together and you will have your total m².
