Foundation Concrete

Applying the right Concrete mix for your project is essential for achieving the best results. Subsequently, the Mick George Group supply a comprehensive range of Concrete Applications of varying strengths and grades to ensure the ideal solution for any project, large or small.

Foundation Concrete or FND Concrete mixes are specified for foundations, they are used in footings for various buildings where engineers have to have the soil analysed. The report for the engineer will stipulate the DC class of chemical resistance that is needed on a particular site and the DC value dictates the appropriate FND grade of Concrete.

FND2

FND2 is a sulphate resistant concrete, for when you have sulphate soils or are laying on clay. The minimum cement content of the mix is 330kg per cubic metre. This type of Concrete is often used for foundations of buildings, where it is likely that sulphate containing soil will be present.

Concrete strength: 30N/mm2 at 28 days

Ideal for:

  • DC-2 Soils
  • All types of unreinforced foundations

FND3

The FND3 designation is applied for a designated Concretes that are used in foundation applications where the ground has been found to contain sulphates. These have specified minimum cementitious content (MCC) and water to cement (W/C) ratio and also permit only cement types known to provide appropriate resistance to chemicals found in the ground (primarily sulphates).

Concrete strength: 30N/mm2 at 28 days

  • DC-3 Soils
  • All types of unreinforced foundations

FND4

The FND4 designation is applied for a designated Concretes that are used in foundation applications where the ground has been found to contain sulphates.
