The Global UK Construction Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) which tracks total industry activity, rose from 49.7 in February to 50.2 in March.
Construction Industry Activity
Construction activity increased throughout March which has ended a six-month period of decline.
A recent industry report has found that this was likely due to improved sales pipelines and a far greater number of enquiries. The standout figures come from new orders, which achieved the highest increase since May 2023.
Construction Purchasing Managers Index
The Global UK Construction Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) which tracks total industry activity, rose from 49.7 in February to 50.2 in March.
The baseline/ standard is 50.0 and therefore anything about this number can be deemed as growth.
Although from month to month the change seems small, this represents a more significantly positive move for the industry, as it is the highest overall rating since August 2023.
