Houghton & Wyton Parish Council have been able to repair the War Memorial in Houghton.
Houghton Cemetery Lych Gate and War Memorial
Thanks to a generous donation from the Mick George Group, Houghton & Wyton Parish Council have been able to clean and repair their War Memorial whilst also replacing their Lych Gate at the main entrance.
The works were completed after a recent survey identified that the amenities both needed refurbishment, to overcome safety concerns, while simultaneously restoring the integrity and appearance of the destination.
The Houghton Cemetery Lych Gate and War Memorial is an important landmark within the area, with over 300 local residents each paying their respects to loved ones buried in the adjacent cemetery.
