Mick George Ltd has completed Earthworks for The National Trust’s historic Wimpole Estate project to create a brand new entrance into the estate including a new visitor welcome building and car park.
The £6.4million scheme marks an exciting new chapter in the locations history.
The car park has outgrown its current location and the grass car parks are unable to cope with busier days in wet and wintry weather, so a new car park which can be used all year round is being constructed, with 700 hard standing spaces together with additional overflow grass parking areas. There will also be provision of cycle parking, coach parking and accessible spaces, as well as electric vehicle charging points.
The new visitor welcome building will be a contemporary but fitting design for this countryside landscape and will better orientate visitors, providing a clearer sense of arrival to the magnificent parkland of Wimpole.
