Weldon Cricket Club Clubhouse

The Cricket Club of Weldon, Northamptonshire has become a focal point for success in recent times with the Clubs various teams achieving numerous promotions, while breaking records along the way.

Consequently, with the Club advancing through the leagues, the Club’s committee has taken steps to further improve the Clubhouse facility to ensure the standards set out at higher levels are attained.

Courtesy of a £19,500 grant from local construction firm Mick George Ltd, the Clubhouse has undergone significant refurbishment and is now a much more welcoming and inviting place for local residents and visiting teams.

The transformation includes a complete redecoration, comprising new flooring, wash and shower rooms, furniture and electrical fittings throughout.

The Club’ which dates back almost 150 years now has 5 adult teams that compete in the respective Northants and Rutland leagues, as well as a thriving youth section at age categories U7 – U15.

It is hoped that the recent enhancements will entice a more diverse audience from that usually associated with the location, acting as a suitable destination for social groups such as the women’s institute, church bereavement support centre and other sports teams; pool, darts and the likes.

This we will be welcome news to the thousands of new residents purchasing a property on the many developments bordering the village of Weldon, including the Weldon Lakes scheme, part of Priors Hall Park, one of the UK’s largest home build projects, set on 1200 acres of parkland to form 5,095 homes in the next 15 years.
