With over 50 years of funding cutting edge research, the ‘British Heart Foundation’ has established itself as the UK’s number one heart charity, but still faces a tough task in leading the fight against Coronary heart disease, the UK’s single biggest killer.
June 9th, provides a special opportunity for those seeking to help, as the charity launches its national ‘Wear it, Beat it’ campaign, principally designed to promote wearing red, or hosting a red event with family, friends, or colleagues.
British Heart Foundation has made it really easy for workplaces, schools or groups of friends to join in the fun, with various tools and fundraising kits to help getting started.
Spokesperson, at British Heart Foundation stated: ‘‘Heart disease touches us all. The huge impact it has on those living with heart disease is often felt by their families and friends just as much. Drives such as this, go a long way in helping to make further medical advances in the related fields’’
Mick George Ltd, having recently announced a charity of the year partnership with the British Heart Foundation, which saw the local business donate £1,500 to kick-start the collaboration, has got involved in the action.
The Huntingdon based office has been transformed in to a deluge of red activity. Almost every member of staff turned up for a normal working day in the office, wearing red attire, while additional baking, and raffles, helped to raise a fantastic £500.
Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’This is the first of many fundraising activities that we have planned for the British Heart Foundation. Credit to the employees who have made a concerted effort to contribute to a wonderful cause’’.
