Mick George Ltd was associated with the Earthworks and Stabilisation for the new £36million Sports and Wellbeing Facility at Warwick University.
The new Sports ‘Hub’ will be both operationally and environmentally sustainable, while creating one of the best sports’ facilities at a UK University by the time it is complete in 2019. The University has set the goal of becoming the ‘’most physically active campus community in the UK by 2020.’’
The proposed ‘Hub’ will be located on land just off of the Cryfield Village area of the campus. It will not be restricted to students only, with staff and general public also enticed to use the premises, as the University aims to achieve its vision of a healthier University providing world-class facilities.
Replacing the existing facilities, the plans include provisions for a whole multitude of sporting amenities, which include a swimming pool, fitness suite, climbing and bouldering walls and flexible studio spaces, as well as squash courts, outdoor 3G sports pitches and netball courts, plus a Café for refreshments.
