Warboys Football Club: Mower

With the football season fast approaching, clubs are rallying together to ensure that their grounds are in perfect condition for the first game of the new campaign.

Despair was starting to set in at Warboys Town Football Club who were in desperate need of a new lawnmower to keep their pitch in tact' as they hope to maintain their accolade of having the best grass-roots football pitch in the County of Cambridgeshire.

With little local funding available, they turned to local Construction firm, Mick George Ltd for assistance.

Thankfully, their prayers were answered, and a brand-new ride-on lawnmower has been purchased just in time for the new season, thanks to a considerable £1,700 grant from the Mick George Sports Fund.

The Mick George Sports Fund, run in association with Living Sport, has funding available for sports clubs within the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough region. Funding is available for training provisions, equipment, club maintenance as well as new equipment to aid the club where necessary.

Martin Lloyd, First Team Manager at Warboys Town FC commented: “I speak on behalf of the whole community of Warboys Town FC when I say that we are extremely grateful of the kind donation that Mick George and Living Sport have provided us. Not only will the lawnmower be used to benefit the football club, but it will also enable lots of other local clubs who use the facilities to benefit from the well-maintained grounds.”
