Truckfest 2016

Truckfest is the largest commercial vehicle event in Europe, and this year was no different; being the biggest event ever with more entertainment, and even more trucks in attendance. There was Monster Truck action in the main arena, with Britain’s favourite monster truck Swamp Thing crashing its way over cars alongside breathtaking motorcycle action from stunt duo Broke FMX.

Celebrity guests Lisa Kelly and Todd Dewey from the latest Ice Road Truckers series were also at the show for fans to meet and greet, alongside television’s Ronnie and Amy Shirley from Lizard Lick Towing.

Mick George Ltd had their latest HGV’s on display and provided free demos on the state-of-art safety features that are installed on vehicles across their fleet. There were also be special appearances from the Mick George Cheerleaders and Mick the Skip, as well as the chance to win prizes on their mini ‘Chip in the Skip’ challenge.

Truckfest 2016

The company has recently expanded its operation to Boston and Leicester and looked to recruit more drivers from this event across all their operating areas: Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Peterborough and Leicestershire.

Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd said:  “This was the first year that our trucks were on display at Truckfest, and we had such a positive and warm welcome. The Mick George fleet of lorries have been sharing the local roads with communities for the last 30 years and have earnt an almost celebrity status across the region.

“Truckfest is a great opportunity for us to demo the large investment we make every year in ensuring our trucks move around the roads of the region safely, as well speak to both existing and new drivers about working at Mick George Ltd.

“We had lots of entertainment planned for the family on both days including our mini ‘Chip in the Skip’ challenge which gave kids the chance to win prize, as well as lots of giveaways, and we hope to become involved again with Truckfest Peterborough in the coming years.”
