Mick George Ltd graduates to high visability vehicles for city duties...
Accredited with the Tipper Haulier of the Year and FORS Gold accolades, Mick George Ltd has further enhanced its impressive safety credentials by commissioning the first Mercedes-Benz Econic construction vehicles for operation outside of the capital.
The new trucks will spend much of their time operating in and around busy cities, including historic Cambridge, which has been described as the UK’s ‘City of Cycling’. The ‘low-entry’ chassis’ design quite literally puts drivers on a level playing field with other road users, pedestrians and cyclists. The lower seating position and panoramic views offer a 90% increase in visibility from the extended window space and fully glazed doors, considerably advantageous when navigating through busy or complex city routes. And all of this on top of improved configuration to improve manoeuvrability when compared to a normal construction truck.
Like all of Mick George’s trucks, the Econics and Arocs are fitted with additional safety armoury comprising five cameras, nearside proximity scan systems, left and right turn audible alarms and additional warning markings.
