Having announced the appointment of two new Senior Stabilisation Managers at the back end of 2018, as well as a six-figure investment in Stabilisation equipment earlier this year, Mick George Ltd continue to enhance their Stabilisation division with the addition of more experienced personnel within their ranks.
Alastair McDermid, or ‘Al’ as he is more fondly recognised arrives with 25-years background in the Construction Industry and more specifically 21-years in Soil Stabilisation.
Starting out as an operator of specialist plant, Al has held numerous related positions, from Managing Director of a family Stabilisation business (Beach Soil Stabilisation Ltd), through to ‘Chairing’ a Stabilisation industry task Group (Britpave) for the past 13 years.
During his time in the industry, Al has worked on a huge variety of projects for many esteemed clients, not limited too; Ikea, Sainsbury’s, M&S and Next.
Cumulatively, Al’s contribution has earned several-millions-of-pounds across projects ranging from small car parking areas, private estate carriage paths, warehouses & distribution centres, right through to the Athletes Warm-up Track at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
The sporting pedigree continues, with the redevelopment of Silverstone Race Circuit, the Lotus Cars Test Track, and the home testing track for the Ford UK rally team in Greystoke Forest, Cumbria. Not discounting, Brighton & Hove Albion FC, Man City FC and the Salford City Reds stadiums.
Alongside working on his golf handicap, family-man Al is committed to the challenge of increasing the Mick George brand among the Stabilisation industries elite. Despite approaches from other recognised organisations in the same market, as Al describes ‘Mick George’s dynamic approach and exciting plans made them the only choice for me.’’
