S&L RFC Clubhouse Refurbishment

After an Autumn of Rugby that gripped the nation courtesy of the triumphs from our national team, the Rugby and wider community in Corby have further reason to celebrate following the completion of an impressive refurbishment programme at Stewarts and Lloyds RFC.

The clubhouse at the Occupation Road playing facilities has been subject to a £19,500 overhaul following a grant received from local construction specialists, the Mick George Group.

The previously inferior and dated venue has been revitalised, with significant upgrades made to the female toilets, air conditioning, replacement of the ceiling, creation of additional storage space and a full decoration to the main and entrance hall, respectively.

Stewarts and Lloyds RFC currently provide sports provisions to 12 separate adult, junior and mini teams, and it was unanimously agreed amongst members and committee that for the Club to continue its progression, enhancements to the Clubs social space should be prioritised.

Already the changes are paying dividends with the location attracting increased attention for social and corporate bookings, facilitating martial arts training, music practice sessions, yoga classes, childcare & nursery events.

Plans are already being formulated for the next phase of developments at the Club, with cellar and bar refurbishments, and disabled facility upgrades being earmarked.

This grant will allow us to improve access for wheelchairs and buggy’s, so that all members of the community can access all areas of the nature reserve and get out into nature”

Over the years, the business has been fortunate to be involved with some wonderful projects that have positively contributed towards the community, and we expect that this initiative will be no different’’
