Shotgun World Cup
Local Cambridgeshire farmer, James Sole, is set to represent Great Britain in the Shotgun World Cup from Cyprus after receiving sponsorship backing from Mick George Ltd.
This isn’t the first time James has had the honour of featuring for his country, having appeared at World Cups and European Championships previously, providing strong performances on each occasion.
James will be hoping to repeat that feat in the competition, providing a strong platform to achieve his longer term aspirations of achieving selection for the European Championships in Italy later on in the year and the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
The 38 year old, fourth generation farmer in Cambridgeshire has been shooting targets since the age of 14, at 17 his passion for the sport developed with his first junior national cap. Four years later this was followed up with his first senior cap.
In 2010 James won two team bronze medals at the commonwealth federation championships for England in Delhi. The following year, James won ‘high gun’ at the home nations match before captaining England at the 2012 home nation’s championships.
