Ringstead Social Club Kitchen Facility

The quaint village of Ringstead, Northamptonshire, has benefitted from a generous donation from local business Mick George Ltd, to the value of £13,695 that has permitted the purchase and installation of a brand new kitchen facility within the villages social club.

The club which has been in the village for over 100 years, is recognised as a vital amenity for residents to regularly congregate, creating a welcoming community environment. Originally a working Men’s Club, the current committee has in recent times been working tirelessly to gain financial support to keep the club solvent, as well as completing major refurbishment works.

The improved catering facilities consist of all the mod-cons’ you would associate with a modern kitchen, including; cupboard and sink units, work-tops, dishwasher, hand basin, water heaters and much more.

The inaugural event to utilise the new premises, will be the Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning planned for the 29th September, which is anticipated to be a hugely successful occasion. Future plans include creating a family fun day as part of the village annual handicrafts and produce show.

This venue will extend its availability, to Youth Clubs and Christmas parties, as well private functions, and social meetings for pool, skittles and darts teams, all of which are hoped to generate additional funds that will help towards sustaining the Clubs’ future.

Another project that has recently taken advantage of the funding opportunity from Mick George Ltd, was at Weldon Cricket Club, whereby newly installed wicket covers have been added to improve the playing surface for the large user base throughout the county.
