Ramsey Cricket Club
Having secured several cups and leagues last year, and the thriving youth scene among the best in the county, Ramsey Cricket Club has been actively seeking support to continue its ambitious plans to achieve East Anglia Premier League status in the near future.
Local business Mick George Ltd has stepped up to the challenge, and has agreed a partnership with the club that will see them supply a free of charge waste management service at the Cricketfield Lane premises for the year ahead.
The cost savings will allow Ramsey Cricket Club to reinvest surplus cash into expanding the club, improving facilities and ensuring a sustainable future.
Stephen Buddle, Chairman at Ramsey Cricket Club said: "We are delighted to team up with Mick George Ltd and are really grateful that such a great local business generously puts money back into the community. We are a club run by volunteers and without external support to help with the running costs we would not be able to continue’’.
The club has managed in the past to unearth major talents that have gone on to represent at national levels, including the England Ladies captain Charlotte Edwards who began her Cricket playing career at Ramsey. Currently operating 5 men’s teams, a ladies team and 6 junior sides, the aim is to produce further future stars of the sport.
Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’The success of the club is clear to see, as is the emphasis on encouraging the development of young talent and improving the lives of residents from the surrounding communities. This is an ethos that Mick George Ltd replicates throughout its business model, so we were keen to support and give something back.’’
