Quorn Care Home

Construction to create a new 64-bed luxury care home on land adjacent to Quorn Football Club is to get underway imminently, with local firm Mick George Ltd due to begin enabling works, on behalf of principal contractor Clegg Construction Ltd.

Planning permission for the 0.54-hectare development which is situated on the corner of Farley Way and Loughborough Road was obtained in 2017 and once operational is anticipated to provide 70 full time equivalent jobs in the area.

The scheme consists of the erection of the care home, as well as associated landscaping, car-parking and the formation of a new vehicular access to serve Quorn Football Club, due to the existing entrance now being utilised for care home visitors.

The C-shaped two storey building will house 64 single ensuite bedrooms and a series of communal areas for dining and leisure use, while the enclosed courtyard garden will provide a number of patio and sitting out areas.

The 64 rooms will not be self-contained and will be supplemented by associated communal facilities, including dining room, TV and cinema rooms, hairdressers, and café/bistro amenities.

It’s understood that the proposed care packages range from general care to more intensive dementia and emotional care provisions, with all residents given the option of 24-hour on-site care should they require.
