Kota Blue limestone is a fantastic choice of stone for any area. This is one of the most attractive colours that we stock due to its uniqueness. The natural shade of Kota Blue limestone is tough to replicate as it is a subtle shade somewhere between grey & blue. It’s incredibly popular due to is toughness, and colour palette. A few of our staff members have even had this laid in their own garden! Over time, limestone improves. The colour mellows out and slowly starts to feel wonderfully traditional as the years go by.
The surface of the limestone is ‘naturally smooth’, so there is no need to worry about excessive flaking, or rough/sharp patches of the stone occurring. Kota Blue limestone is a very low risk choice, with a very high reward. This paving has gone through an extra process whereby the edges of the stone have been clean-cut sawn to provide a perfectly smooth edge. The benefit here is two-fold – any visible edges create a very contemporary look with the smooth edges and also, the perfectly straight edges mean the slabs sit alongside each other like a jigsaw.
The surface finish of limestone is much smoother than what is typically found on the regular sandstones. Whilst not sawn smooth, the surface of limestone is naturally quite smooth – we would describe this an ‘orange peel’ texture, so will look smooth from a regular perspective but will have small, irregular pitting across the surface.

What is a Single Size Pack?
Single Size packs are exactly what they say on the tin. They are packs of slabs which contain only 1 size slab. Whereas a “Patio Pack” contains a mixture of 4 sizes, our single size packs are only a single size.
What area does a Single Size Pack cover?
Single size packs are bought as multiples of individual slabs. Each slab covers a specific area, so depending on the slab size you know the area you can cover:
- 90cm x 60cm = 0.54m2
- 60cm x 60cm = 0.36m2
- 60cm x 45cm = 0.27m2
- 60cm x 30cm = 0.18m2
