Type 1 Limestone Loose Loads

Our loose loads of Type 1 Graded Limestone (Camb Spec) are a 63mm down crushed Limestone and is typically used as a high quality fill or sub-base material.

This material is often used for the construction of car parks, driveways and non-adoptable roads. As the product is frost susceptible it is not classified as MOT, and therefore cannot be used on highways.

Small loads of Loose Aggregates are perfect for – Extensions, Conservatories, Paving & Driveway, Gardening, Shed Bases, Walling, Trenchfill, Sandpits and other similar projects.

Small loose loads of Limestone are available up to 7-tonnes.

Larger loose loads or Bagged aggregates are available beyond these postcodes.

Type 1 Limestone

Delivery is free for our Loose Aggregates service and will be completed within 1-3 working days (estimate only) – we cannot guarantee any specific delivery times and would advise to expect between 7am and 8pm. We will do what we can to deliver at the earliest convenience.

Most deliveries will be completed on a Skip Loader – Dimensions: 6.62m length x 2.53m width x 3.3m height.

If your order is cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery date, then a £15 (Inc VAT) cancellation fee will apply. The waiting time charges of £60 per hour will apply, after 15 minutes from the time of arrival

We’re unable to drive over raised kerbs; man-hole covers or grass, and aggregates must be placed on private property. If we’re unable to carry out the delivery as intended due to site restrictions, wasted journey charges may apply.

What is Limestone?

When compared to similar counterparts, like Gravel, Limestone differentiates in the main due to the fact that it’s formed from just one specific sedimentary rock type.

Made up of calcium carbonate, Limestone is typically located anywhere previously occupied below Sea levels. Niagara Falls, is widely recognised as one of the most iconic Limestone depositories but quarries are more common.

Limestone aggregates are generally bulky and jagged, available in a range of sizes from pavers through to crushed limestone particles or fragments.

Limestone Benefits

Limestone aggregate is predominantly used as a sub-base within the Construction Industry, where robustness is required to withstand the weight of traffic, tarmac or asphalt surfacing or load-bearing structures like bridges.

Limestone presents fantastic drainage qualities, enhanced strength and decreases the chance of drying shrinkage when used within concrete mix applications.

Limestone chippings are utilised for numerous purposes, not least garden borders, driveways and pathways.
