13.10.2016 - Preparation is ‘Key’
After a slow start to the season, there has been a much welcomed change in fortune for Cambridge United FC, who are unbeaten in five, picking up four consecutive wins in all league and cup competitions.
Whilst it may appear that little has changed in terms of performance, the finer detail behind the scenes is certainly starting to pay dividends.
The management staff are scrutinising every last aspect, in an effort to ensure the club is best positioned to continue gaining positive results achieved of late, for which official club sponsors Mick George Ltd have ‘accelerated’ this charge.
Historically, the Kit-Man, kit, dietary requirements, equipment, medical support and other critical match-day features, travel on the team coach alongside the players for away fixtures. As you can imagine, this is not ideal preparation with limited time between arrival and kick-off.
This is set to change, thanks to a gesture from Mick George Ltd, who has provided the club with a vehicle to ensure that all preparations can now be done in advance.
Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’The club, as with our business is judged based on performance, but much of that is down to prior work behind the scenes. Without that effort, the outcome is almost inevitable, so it’s good to see the club is not leaving any stone unturned when it comes to preparation. Subsequently they will identify what works and what doesn’t, which can only be a good thing.’’
Stump Continued: ‘’We have a fleet in excess of 300 vehicles now serving different purposes, so fortunately we were able to offer a helping hand in this instance. Our relationship with the club is a healthy one, and we’re continuously liaising to get the very best out of the partnership.’’
