POSH FA Cup Triumph

Its not all hard hats, heavy-duty machinery and involvement with many high-profile construction projects that Mick George Ltd has to be excited about as 2018 kick starts.

One of the company’s major sponsorship partnerships with Peterborough United Football Club has come up trumps’ after the club managed to secure a huge scalp over Aston Villa, of the Championship.

Superb POSH deservedly run out 3-1 winners, in front of over 21,000 supporters, and a travelling army of more than 5,000 POSH faithful.

Despite falling behind inside the opening ten minutes, the team tenaciously battled on, and was finally rewarded in the 75th minute, when Marriott found the net, which was no-more-than-deserved. From here-on-in there was only one winner.

After surviving a scare when Villa’s Icelandic midfielder Bjarnason cracked the crossbar with his effort, POSH turned on the pressure and went ahead in the 82nd minute, after defender Tafazolli headed home from a corner. The rout was complete when Marriott completed his brace in the dying moments.

Mick George Ltd, a regular presence within the Construction and Trade media has now seen the brand exposed on the sports pages of many of the large newspaper tabloids, broadsheets, as well as on TV screens throughout the country, thanks to the triumphs of Peterborough United FC.

The reward for both, the prospect of an Emirates FA Cup tie against Premier League opposition, Leicester City - scheduled weekend commencing 27th January. The match is dependent on the former Premier League Champions overcoming a tricky replay against Fleetwood Town FC.

Everyone connected with the Club will be eagerly awaiting the outcome, and hoping for yet another glamorous FA Cup contest, that will see both organisations broadcast across media channels once again, and the opportunity of another Cup upset.
