The Brief

Mick George Ltd was associated with the fully enclosed removal of AIB to the side of radiators, shuttering and floor boards underneath radiator pipework, within the 1st-floor south wing of Peterborough Town Hall.  The project included Asbestos Surveys and the removal of licensed and non-licensed asbestos materials.


• ASB5 14-Day notification to the HSE
• Preparation of HSE approved plan of work
• Set up of full enclosures in accordance with MGE Standard Operating Procedures
• Removal of AIB to radiators and above pipework - 1st floor South Block
• Removal of vinyl floor tiles to stairs; removal of toilet cisterns from x 2 shop units

• Disposal of all ACMs and provision of hazardous waste consignment notes
• 4 stage air clearances and personal monitoring
• Duration of works: 12 days
• Size of Job (area or volume): x 3 Enclosures amounting to Approx x 1 40 yard enclosed skip



Whenever Asbestos is discovered on one of our projects, it is never something that is particularly well greeted as it’s usually a difficult and time consuming job to remove. That said, the ‘Environmental’ division at Mick George Ltd has done a tremendous job taking care of all aspects, from surveying through to disposal.
