29.01.16 - Mick the Skip lifts the Emirates F.A Cup

Ahead of the big fourth round Emirates F.A Cup clash featuring Peterborough United FC and West Bromwich Albion from the Hawthorns tomorrow, the Mick George Training Academy was greeted with a welcome visit from the spectacular trophy.

The competition has a rich heritage and the club is keen to progress to the next round, a feat which hasn’t been accomplished since 1986. Coincidentally the last time the club featured in the fourth round was during the 2007/08 season against this weekend’s opposition.

It was a rare opportunity that will live long in the memory for those who were fortunate enough to get their hands on the illustrious trophy. Club sponsors, local school children and future stars from the academy all enjoyed the experience of having a photo with the trophy.

Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’It is a big weekend in the football calendar, and one I know supporters, players and management from Peterborough United FC are extremely excited about.’’

Stump Continued: ‘’The arrival of the Emirates F.A Cup at the Mick George Training Academy was a proud moment for our business; it is always nice when we can associate our brand with such iconic sporting events. The opportunity provided many of the academy prospects the opportunity to play out their dreams and get their hands on the Emirates F.A Cup, something many of the best players in the world have never achieved. This gave the youngsters the realisation of what it is they are trying to achieve in their footballing careers.’'
