Mick George Recycling Sale

With effect from 16th December 2019, the multi-collection services performed by Mick George Recycling Ltd has been sold to Veolia ES (UK) Limited (‘’Veolia’’).

The acquisition relates solely to the multi-collection Wheelie Bin, FEL and REL services of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) waste streams. All other waste services, including General Skip Hire and RoRo operations for Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste, remain under the control of the Mick George Group, and customers should continue to contact them for these services.

The Board of Directors at the Mick George Group have taken the decision to focus on its core

business operational strengths and decided that the positioning of Mick George Recycling Ltd’s activities, which focussed on (C&I) multi-lift collections did not fit into the Group’s future strategy.

The sale process has been thorough and seamless, with a clear objective of ensuring a continuity of service and quality for customers and employees, which has been critical in establishing a reputable business that has significantly grown since its initiation in 2015. The agreement with ‘Veolia’ ensures the strong legacy of the business.

They Said:

Jon Stump, Joint CEO of the Mick George Group commented: ‘’After much deliberation by the Board of Directors, the conclusion was that the services provided by Mick George Recycling Ltd did not align with the future strategy of the business. This is a consequence of the handling and processing requirements for C&I waste, which deviates from the vast Construction expertise which we possess and have been operating for many years.’’

Stump continued: ‘’Concentrating our efforts and investment in the C&D waste industry for which we specialise, will allow us to continue to develop the market-leading service we already provide to this sector.’’
