08.08.2016 - Mick George Ltd secures contract with Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service
Whether you’re a school, business, local authority or emergency service one thing remains the same, you still face increasing pressure to meet Government environmental targets. Having recently announced a partnership with The University of Cambridge, Mick George Ltd has now followed suit by being awarded the contract for the waste collection and disposal for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service.
After an extensive tender process involving some major national brands, local supplier Mick George Ltd secured the contract and one of the factors was the ability to provide a sustainable and fully auditable zero to landfill waste management solution from the outset.
The agreement, which is of significant value, will see Mick George Ltd service each of the 28 fire stations, including the Huntingdon based headquarters, for the next three years. Focused on prevention, protection and response, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service has been proactive in its search for an acclaimed new Waste Management provider that will enable the Service to improve its commitment to environmental factors.
Crews are available around the clock 24/7, 365 days a year, providing a service to 805,000 people within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, which means they require a bespoke service that they can rely on.
Abigail Johnson, Commercial Manager at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’Much like ourselves, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service has a duty to provide the community with a service to the highest of standards. We are immensely proud to be connected with yet another reputable local authority.’’
Johnson Continued: ‘’It shows just how much our commercial waste service has developed in a short space of time, viewed upon as a dependable and quality service that those within our operating areas are keen to utilise. As with all of our services, we are continually looking to improve and add value.’’
