The first event of its kind will be hosted from RP Fitness, Cambridge, and is set to be a busy encounter with 5 challenges scheduled for each entrant. These include:
- Drag and Carry Medley
- Circus Dumbell Press
- ‘Yoke’ Frame lift

The experience has been well backed by a number of local organisations who have provided equipment, venue and prizes. One of which was local business Mick George Ltd, who has provided one of it’s new ‘City Safety Vehicles’ to be used in one of the events.
Dan Thomas, Event Organiser said: ‘’We are proud to be initiating this event and hope that it will become an annual occurrence. I would like to thank Mick George Ltd for their assistance.’’
Dan, has been lifting weights for over 20 years, the last 10 of which were spent competing in arm-wrestling, where he represented the UK at World and European level. More recently, his competitive strongman status see’s him coaching weekly classes to like-minded individuals who hope to follow in his footsteps.
Jon Stump, Finance Director of Mick George Ltd said: ‘’Our trucks have been used in many ways over the years, but this is a first. It certainly differs from their daily use, as with everything, it’s good to see some versatility. I can clarify that our trucks are particularly heavy, the contestants certainly deserve appreciation for there ability to manoeuvre such objects.’’
Stump Continued: ‘’We support a number of local initiatives that aim to generate funds for various charities; this is our first correspondence with ‘Oddballs Charity’. We recognise the significance of the medical condition this specific charity is hoping to combat, so are always keen to help where possible.’’
