05.06.2016 - Mick George Ltd bring the sun to Littleport Fun Day
With the annual Littleport Fun Day in Cambridgeshire a phenomenal hit with the local community in past years, Mick George Ltd were thrilled to have a presence at the event this year which was held on Sunday 5th May.
There was fun to be had by all of the family throughout the day, with fairground rides, inflatable zorb ball fun, a classic car show and dog show, as well as a beer tent and barbeque on offer, to help keep guests refreshed in the glorious sunshine. To add to the days’ entertainment our mascot Mick the Skip made an appearance, and spoilt the children with his bucket of sweets and high-fives, and even had a go on the giant inflatable slide.
Mick George Ltd provided free truck demos for the children, which enabled the company to convey our important ‘Be Safe, Be Seen’ road safety campaign to a wider audience and varied age range. As well as this, a mini version of the infamous ‘Chip in the Skip challenge’ made an appearance, where participants were invited to try their luck and chip the ball into the skip as seen at Cambridge United and Peterborough United matches. Participants could purchase 3 balls for 50p, and those that successfully chipped the ball into the chip were entered into a prize draw to win an iPad, with all proceeds going towards the Littleport Leisure Centre fundraising total.
Providing the Waste Services throughout this years’ Fun Day, Mick George Ltd were proud to be a part of this esteemed event alongside main sponsors, Morgan Sindall, who are currently progressing with the building works behind the current Leisure Centre, with help from the Mick George Contracting Division.
Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: “It’s really important that local events such as the Littleport Fun Day continue to gain support from local businesses. It’s great that the organising team have involved Mick George Ltd this year, and we hope to be able to become a permanent part of community events in and around the Littleport area in the future.‘’
