Local Sponsorship August 2017
It’s not just the BBQ’s that will see the coals fiercely burning away this summer. Thanks to funding from Mick George Ltd, the Firewalk event held by East Anglian Children Hospital, is just one of a number of events within the Cambridgeshire region that has received support from local business, Mick George Ltd.
The occasions are wide ranging in genre, from sports, entertainment, landscaping, transport and animal themed initiatives, set to benefit interested parties, both young and old, in the nearby communities.
Mick George Ltd, who are continually engaging in community support programmes, have stumped up in excess of £1,500 of resources to help aid five separate ventures throughout the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough regions.
• March Steam and Vintage Show : Skips
• Wisbech St Mary Football Club : Financial sponsorship
• St Ives Youth Theatre : Financial sponsorship to perform at Edinburgh Fringe Festival
• Heltwate School Allotment Project : Skip and Aggregates
• East Anglian Childrens Hospital, Firewalk event, Cambridge : Skip
There are four local sponsorship rounds each year for applicants to submit entries for consideration. The next funding stage will be ending at the end of September, 2017.
Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd ‘’The sheer volume of applicants for sponsorship assistance from our business highlights just how difficult it is for these often charity or volunteer led initiatives to generate the finances required to host such events.’’
Stump continued: ‘’The enjoyment that the attendees get from these events shows the true value of each to the respective local communities. Large volumes of spectators, participants and passers-by will benefit from the selected initiatives, which makes it all the more worthwhile to us. We hope that our support enhances their experience.’’
