Deeping Raft Race & Bourne 10k Run

There seems to be something different on the agenda for Mick George Ltd to be getting their teeth stuck into each-and-every week, and this weekend will see the local business dedicate its commitments to the Deeping Raft Race, providing numerous complimentary commercial waste bins, to cater for all waste generated at the popular annual event.

Hundreds of people will be taking part in the raft race, setting off from Deeping St. James on the River Welland. The race takes place on Sunday 6th August, and whether you’re looking to participate, or not, there are plenty of reasons still to attend.

Head down and cheer on the teams and enjoy lots of other entertainment near the river in Deeping St. James and Market Deeping. It’s not too late to get a team together and join in the fun either.

The racing commences at Bridge Street in Deeping St James at midday, before taking on the normal route from previous years, where the rafts will be making their way to the finish line, at the Boundary in Market Deeping.

The High Street will be filled with stalls and attractions to keep all in attendance occupied, with a cake competition to get the taste buds tingling and most importantly, it’s FREE entry for all spectators.

The theme this year is ‘British’ so get creative with the raft design, perhaps a Spitfire or even a Black Cab. Award presentations will be made at 4pm, for the most creative designs.

Mick George Ltd will also be offering its support to another physical challenge this weekend, with the Bourne 10K run.

Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’The Raft Race is a little different to some of our other commitments, but certainly brings about equal amounts of enjoyment for those that attend. We recognise that our assistance can help tremendously with some of these volunteer led initiatives, so are always looking to help wherever feasible.’’
