07.04.2016 - Local Farmer fly’s the flag for country
Local Cambridgeshire farmer, James Sole has just returned from Cyprus having represented Great Britain in the Shotgun World Cup. Following sponsorship funding from Mick George Ltd to help subsidies some of the attributed cost to competing overseas, James was able to continue his preparations to achieve his Commonwealth Games dream.
After scoring a very respectable score of 118 / 125, James landed himself a top 15 finish in a competitive field of 111 participants which included several members who have already confirmed their position to compete at the Rio Olympics.
James Sole said: ‘’I am pleased with my performance, as this is the first competition of the year. I now have a strong platform to start the year, which all bodes well for the forthcoming competitions that I’ll be involved.’’
It’s been a busy period for James who was back in action immediately on his return, however the inspired form continued. Last weekend James managed to retain his Cambridgeshire County Olympic Trap title with a solid performance of 96 / 100. With no let up in the schedule, James continues this weekend with the first British Team and UK Championship shoot.
Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’James should be proud of his achievements. It’s nice when our involvement can have a positive impact on people at a personal level, but as a county we should recognise and be proud to have such talents within our local community. James has a wealth of experience and we wish him all the best in his aspirations to feature at the Commonwealth Games.’’
